wednesday's thoughtsA thought...

Had a sudden thought while on my way to work this morning..

True?

tuesday's thoughtsPaid...

1st step to becoming a pirate. Register and offer your booty to your captain. Thereafter, endure a 20hour bootcamp and hopefully you'll earn a talking parrot by then!

Anyway.. pretty excited about this coming weekend. It's a 2 day course from 9.30am to 7.30pm on Saturday & Sunday @ SAFYC. After going through the course... my next step will be the theory test conducted at Singapore Poly, upon passing... I'll be able to book a practical test date with the Maritime Authority for my boat handling. If all goes well.... it's yatching time, baby!!

Hope the tests won't be that hard to pass... wish me luck, ya?!

monday's thoughtsDurians Galore!

Last Saturday my family and I went on a short trip to Malaysia for a 1 Day 'Durian Tour'. Not particularly keen on it as mostly all your travel mates are either retirees, housewives, aunties and uncles. The itinery isn't that exciting at all.. But as it's my dad's birthday as well as Father's day being the day after, I guess my presence would mean more to him as a whole family enjoying a short weekend getaway.

A short overview, gather at Meridian orchard for your coach in, after clearing custom.. head for brunch at some street corner coffeeshop. Promptly followed by another hr's journey to the durian plantation where you can eat till you puke.

So, after puking and eating some more... you're then herded to the waiting bus for another hr's trip to the local hypermart, Jusco. Setting you loose for 2 hours, you're back on the bus en-route to ANOTHER hypermart Giant where you're allowed to roam for an hour before the evening feeding time.

Had our so-called 'seafood dinner' at some crappy restruant that looks like only tourist like us are forced to patronised. Anyway.. food's edible. Though thoughout the meal I kept wondering where they stash their giant microwave... as they seem to be able to serve all the 7 course food dishes at once for all the 10 tables!

Back on the bus after dinner... and we're finally heading home.

F.i.n.a.l.l.y!

Some pics here.. not much though.

friday's thoughtsMonks in Friendster?

What is this
world coming
to...?!

wednesday's thoughtsAtom Ant!

Anyone remember this cartoon? This use to be my favourite when I was young.. It's kinda prehistoric as this series is even before classics like Transformers, Mask, He-Man, Smurfs, etc...

Enjoy...

tuesday's thoughtsArrggh...

After 3 hours of intense roasting under the scorching sun on Saturday.. without my marination a.k.a sunblock... Above is what is happening to my face now..

Its falling apart....

tuesday's thoughtsBirth of the Silver Surfer

Before the much-awaited sequel hits our big-screen, this is for the folks who are born after the 80s and those who have the slightest idea who Silver Sufer is,

tuesday's thoughtsOptimism in a different light

Waves after waves of thoughts continue to swept through as I struggled to reach some form of closure. Maybe it's the nature in me that likes to treasure the past, cling on the present and plan for the future. Optimism might not always be a positive attribute.

Especially when facts are hitting you head-on telling you to move ahead, yet you persisted... insisting on your staunch belief that goodness will ultimately prevail.

Being optimistic might be considered a strength in judging one's character but it could also be your weakness... and as the saying goes; "the strongest chain is only as strong as its weakest link."

Agree?

monday's thoughtsScreamin Beans...

Feeling too stressed up?? Looking for an avenue of release...?
Check this out.. it comes package with some laughter too!

monday's thoughtsMicrosoft Surface..

imagine.. you were out at the beach and you saw a really weird looking dog.. excited, you whipped out your mobile and snap a few pics. Can't wait to get home and email to a few buddies.

You reach home, saw your mom sipping her afternoon tea at the living room and decided to share your prized photographs. You placed your mobile on the coffeetable. It instantly recognises it and displays the lastest few pics you took on its 30 inch touchscreen interactive surface. You gently touch the pics and enlarge it so that you mom can have a better look.

She finds it so amusing that she places her mobile on the table and dragged the pics into her mobile.

You notice her tea colour looks unique and ask her what kind of tea she's having... she took out the can of tea leaves and places on the table.. a wealth of infomation pops up immediately with even pics and videos of the tea plantation.

Sounds high-tech? Science fiction? Or something from a futuristic movie?

Trash your imagination, folks! It's a reality...

Introducing Microsoft Surface...
You guys really have to see it in action to gauge its coolness level!

I want one!!!
God, I'm so glad to be part of this generation... isn't it just exciting???!

monday's thoughtsWhy I hate Mondays..

5
reasons why I hate Mondays.

1) It's the 1st day after the weekends.
2) It's 2 more days to mid-week
3) It's 3 more days to a day before Friday
4) It's 4 more days to Saturday
5) It's 5 more days before I dread the next day again...

monday's thoughtsTennis

just blew 150 bucks on this beauty here. The Titanium Nano Ti.S4. Kinda costly for a beginner like me.. but considering it was on sale (which true-blue Singaporean can resist a good SALE??) and it's original price was $300+.

But anyway.. I've zero knowledge on knowing what is a good racquet... For me it has to look good at the very least. Was contemplating between a loud limegreen/black design from Wilson and this. This colour and design won me over finally. Looks good! Had some funny anti-shock thingy at the base of the grip.. feels pretty light (It's only 240g!)

Had my 1st game with my new racquet on Sunday.. great weather, cooling and a little cloudy. Racquet feels ok, with a heavier head as compared to its stem resulting in more power and control. Pretty balance in accuracy and speed as well. Overall.. it was a good 2hrs. (Though I feel badminton is way more tiring.. or maybe I spent 60% of the time picking up balls... hahaha..)

Looking forward to my next game... hopefully this time.. we'll spend 60% of the time playing instead. Hehee..

friday's thoughtsIn Love...

我
相信如果真的爱了 就可以为爱放弃所有的一切
相信如果真的爱了 爱情就可以远远的超越面包

(Not sure if this translation's correct.. but its the best I could do..)

I believe if

I believe when love's true, self-indulgence will take a back-seat
I believe when love's true, it will truimph against materialism

thurday's thoughtsA wish fulfilled

!Yes... finally I've decided to put my foot down and get with it. After more than 3 yrs of just plain talking.. with no action. I've at long last decided to be a man of my words.

No more 'wishy-washyness', no more hestitation, no more putting it off. It's time I be responsible.... to my words.

Hmmm.. that got you wondering what I was yakking about doesn't it?? Hahaa.. Nothing bad.. it's good actually. I've decided to go for my boat license on the 23 June (yes!! this year... 2007!)

tuesday's thoughtsBalance

Ever so often in our daily pursuit of greater fame and glory in the corporate world.. in our constant struggle, elbowing and back-stabbing to secure that promotion or climb just that step higher in the corporate ladder... Many had chosen to sacrifice time, family, friends and even love.

Don't get me wrong.. I'm not one who will be complacent nor satisfied with my current status. I too would like to climb higher and further... but to what expense? I'd ask myself. Would I be truly happy when one day I earn 6-digits a month and command a staff strength worthy of a small army but return home to darkness and silence or a partner whom I address on a first name basis.

End of the day.. would I truly smile by looking at my bank statement or in the arms of the one I truly love.

...you ever say no to another million bucks?

Everything has a line... a balance. I believed in striking a mutual agreement with both sides of the coin. True.. you might not get as high up in the ladder but then again.. there's no last step. There will always be a step higher for you to climb. Would you ever say no to another million bucks? I guess not.

Guess what I'm trying to bring across here is.. keep your head up, look ahead but don''t use the horizon as a yardstick as you will never reach it. Once a while.. look back at how far you've come. A better measurement of success. I'd call it..

Monday

Sucks

monday's thoughtstesting one two three..

No particular reason for this post. Just trying out some scripts for editable text layer over a picture..

Hmm.. think I've done it...!

monday's thoughtsA verse

... But he who put his trust in Me shall possess the land and inherit My holy mountain.

Isa 57:13

monday's thoughtsCorporate Union

Recent events had prompted me into relooking certain things from a different light. Maybe it was pretty naive of me to assume perseverance will result in happiness. I recalled a recent conversation with a friend, Mark. As usual.. he's been whining to me about how he's unable to shake away the numerous girls that's clinging on to him tighter than his Hush Puppies briefs.

.... this tall, dark & handsome physique.....

I can never comprehend how a guy such as Mark with his philandering ways and nonchalant attitude could be so blissfully surrounded by such fine ladies all the time. Well, maybe this tall, dark and handsome physique help a little.. or maybe it's the beemer convertible he's driving... or could it be the posh downtown apartment that he labels as his bachelor pad... or probably it's the namecards he's been spreading faster than a wildfire that states loudly; "Corporate Banker"?

Maybe in this day and age... feelings count for just a fraction of the package and it's definitely not strong enough to be the deciding factor. Wonder how will marriage be decided upon in my children's or grandchildren's era....?

friday's thoughtsTwin chicks??

It was a sad day..., sky's dark, grey and pouring cats & dogs.. it's a friday, just a day after a public holiday. Not in a particularly happy mood as well.. kinda down actually. Pretty much been going on the past couple of weeks.

Anyway..

...sitting at my desk in office... tucking away at my take-away lunch of duck rice and starring at the incessent drops of rain ...layout...

Whereas half the workforce in this little island are either on an extended long weekend or off to their holidays.. Here I am, sitting at my desk in office... tucking away at my take-away lunch of duck rice and starring at the incessent drops of rain in this gloomy weather. Looking so hard.. I could almost hear the raindrops' cries of despair as one by one plunges south, smashing against the ground and breaking up into smithereens.

I must be going nuts.. better concentrate on my lunch instead... I told myself.

Sneaking a peak into what's going into my mouth... my gaze was fixated on a strange sight.

My egg has 2 yolks! ( hmm.. that's didn't come out too well did it??)

Delighted that a sudden excitement has been has turn this grey day slightly lighter... Numerous thoughts began to swarm my mind: Does this means chicken can give birth to twins as well? 2 chicks in 1 egg? Will they be smaller than normal chicks? Do they fight inside? Will they be malnourished from the reduced egg white?

Did a quick search and here's some answers...
