Drawing a close..

Wow.. it's the last day of the year. Time flies.

Haven't been updating for some time as I've been on leave from work for about 2 weeks now. Been hanging pretty late daily, with most days sleeping at dawn and waking up in time for dinner.. hehehe..

I'm not gonna make any resolutions this year as I think it's really useless and hardly anyone remembers (much less keeps to it) it after the 1st week of the year. Instead, I'll try to make it a point to fulfill my last year's resolutions..

Well, as the year draws to a close.. I'll like to wish all my faithful readers a highly rewarding 2007 and may the new year brings hope to the desponent, brings joy to the depressed, brings health to the sick, brings growth to the stagnant and of course, brings wealth to us all!

Happy New Year!

Back in the Little Red Dot..

Sheeeesh.... I'm home.

Trust your weekend's been good?? While I got my butt frozen in Shenzhen, my local friends got theirs wet... =P Heard Singapore has more than 24hrs of non-stop torrential rain.. 3rd largest in recorded history.. wow.

Anyway, damn, those 5 days passed too quickly... I'm starting to missed the 7deg weather there already! Though its freaking cold especially when the winds starts blowing.. it's a nice change from the humid summer-singapore.. and on the streets u see people wrapping up in layer and layers of clothings, in scarfs, gloves and boots... ohh.. those boots... what a turn on!! Call me kinky, but I just love a girl in boots!! hahaha..

Well, for your info, I took about 441 pics. Will be sorting them out soon after I unpack my 28kg luggage.. hehhee...

So, have u got ready your eye drops??

Ok, people... shall update again tomorrow as I really need to figure out where to put all my new purchases!

nitez...

Finally... females explained!

No offence ladies... but this is hilarious!

The countdown begins...

Heheh... by this time tomorrow.. I'll most probably be 15,000 ft crossing the Pacific Ocean looking down at those white fluffy clouds and wish if only I could piss on them.. oops. i mean touch them... heheee..

Ok guys, so I'll be disconnected from the world in about 24hrs time.. as I wouldn't be luggin my 10ton laptop aboard. Be taking lotsa pics.. so get ready those eye drops when I'm back ya?

In the meantime, enjoy your week... and get back to work!! (muahahahaa..)

What is love and marriage

A student asks a teacher, "What is love?" The teacher said, "in order to answer your question, go to the padi field and choose the biggest padi and come back.

But the rule is: you can go through them only once and cannot turn back to pick."

The student went to the field, go through first row, he saw one big padi, but he wonders....may be there is a bigger one later. Then he saw another bigger one... but may be there is a even bigger one waiting for him.

Later, when he finished more than half of the padi f ield, he start to realize that the padi is not as big as the previous one he saw, he know he has missed the biggest one, and he regretted !!!! So, he ended up went back to the teacher with empty hand.

The teacher told him, "...this is love... you keep looking for a better one, but when later you realize, you have already miss the person...."

"What is marriage then?" the student asked.

The teacher said, "in order to answer your question, go to the corn field and choose the bigges t corn and come back.

But the rule is: you can go through them only once and cannot turn back to pick.

"The student went to the corn field, this time he is careful not to repeat the previous mistake, when he reach the middle of the field, he has picked one medium corn that he feel satisfy, and come back to the teacher.

The teacher told him, "this time you bring back a corn.... you look for one that is just nice, and you have faith
and believe this is the best one you get.... this is marriage."

Some laughter..

To be taken with a pinch of salt**

Phrase of the Day

** Those who say money can't buy Happiness, don't know where to shop! **

A Thin Line..

Ever heard of this advice.."Never go into a business with a friend" ?

Was just chatting with a friend over this issue and thought I'll share my painful experience. I too have been given this advice before I had ventured out but thinking if I do my part well, do it with ethics and with a clear conscience.. it'll be fine.. it'll work out.

Well, it did. For a year. But then I guess it's in humans' selfish nature to seek more.. an never-ending urge to find faults.. an insatiable hunger.

Money is indeed the root of Most evil.. not all, but most. A forbidden fruit to be consumed with the utmost care and prudence. At the end of the day, I've learnt it's not enough to be certain that you would do the right thing and handle things the right way.. as at times, the fault certainly doesn't lies with you. Like a team sport, no matter how good you are.. the team is only as good as it's weakest link.

Trust is a tough trait to gain in the polluted world of adulthood. Like many others.. its a trait not to be demanded nor told.. it's to be earned, through actions and words.

Crazy hols shots

Alright... !! 2 more working days.. hahaahaha...

Since my soul has already gone on holiday... I shall post some holiday-related stuff...
This has been around for sometime.. maybe you would have seen it but heck, still worth a good laugh!

She needs a life.

She needs a plaster.. a big one!

He needs a life... more

The fire dept needs him.

Guess she needs a scratch..

You need to run.

He needs a woman... pronto

You need to run... even faster.

Bored

Feeling kinda bored... so thought I'll just drop by & whine a little...

As you know, (unless you are neighbours with 4 turtles who wear eye masks..).. this Little Red Dot will soon be further dotted with 900 other hotspots by this year. I'm talking about Wi-Fi hot spots.. and best of all it's gonna be FREE access!

And that's not the best news... by end of next year, this figure will catapult to 5000 hotspots! Okay. those free-loading-bandwidth stealing-cheepo surfers.. can start toasting now..

Great news for the consumer... finally, it's just about time those guys in Cityhall are finally taking their eyes overseas and realise just how far we're lagging behind countries such as Japan, Korea and HK. So ok, now that we can surf porn in more places and for free... what's next?

I tried loggin in once.. after an hr of trying to access the login page, I gave up. I'd say, no use giving out free petrol if you don't construct more roads leading to the petrol station.

I do dream that one day... I can surf effortlessly at a min speed of 10gbps anywhere on the island.. yes, even that toilet cubicle in Labrador Park, downloads the lastest movie trailers, music and videos on Youtube.. How's that for entertainment in the loo??

Heheh..

Tick tock tick tock.....

Heheh... finally, in about 4 days.. (Psst.. I'm already in semi-holiday mood.. ) I'm able to escape from reality. Escape from all the hustle & bustle of work, datelines, annoying PMs, neverending emails... escape from a mindful of constant restrain of retail therapy (yesss.. guys do love to shop!!), bascially escape from the mundane life in the Little Red Dot.

I can't wait to indulge myself in mindless feasting and crazy shopping spree.. I'll bet my eyes will grow 2 inches in those 5days! The parties late into the nite, the tons of watches I'll accumulate, the mountain of clothes, shoes and bags I'll lugged home... arrgghh.. I can't wait! God, pls slow down time in those 5 days... I'm pretty sure 120 hours are not enough!

Day to myself

Time is 4.31am. I've just return from a trip of self discovery.

Initially met up with a friend for coffee and wanted to catch a movie after that (been dying to see Casino Royale!).. but surprise surprise.. only left the 1st 3 rows.. darn!

Anyway. after sending my friend home... I'm still feeling kinda fresh.. but bored and as I don't wish to go home as yet.. still early, I thought.

Well, I went for a spin... been some time since I went for a spin alone.. pretty satisfying stuff! Especially when you don't have a location in mind and just let your instinct and road guide you. Anyway, I found myself in Serangoon, feeling kinda hungry and wanted to ask a friend out for supper but guess she must already be in dreamland. I continued driving till I reach Mustafa (Singapore's only 24 hour shopping centre.. so far), and decided to drop in as I've been eyeing a luggage there but been considering the need to buy one.

Well, anyway.. after 2 weeks of consideration. and fate has allowed me to end up there, I decided to pop in and take a look if the design I wanted is still available.

I went in and after a frantic search through the largest luggage dept I've ever seen... the design I wanted is no longer there!! Shit.

Took a few rounds in the section, looking at others and still contemplating the neccessity of buying such a big luggage... was just about to call it a night (My stomach is still growling by the way..) and I saw it! Nope.. not the one I came for, but a much nicer one! Take a look..

Nice? Looks expensive doesn't it?? but it doesn't cost a bomb..At only $65 for a size 29 luggage.. I think its a pretty good buy.

I actually spent like 30 mins trying to decide between this one and a medium (size 21) size one which cost $56. Thinking its better (and also more worth it.. it's only 9 bucks) to get a bigger one where you might not be able to fill it up on small trips than a smaller one where your luggage is too small on longer trips.. and end up buying another bigger luggage in the future.

Well, after finally got my luggage.. I decided it's time to head home.. On the way back, was still contemplating.. but this time it's about the 'frog' in my stomach. After blowing 65 buckaroos and another 32 buckaroos filling petrol, should I just ignore the irritating 'frog' and head home for some instant noodles......... or should I stop by for some Pratas (An extremely popular Indian food.. made up of flour lightly tossed in a heated pan, resulting in a fragrant crispy yet soft texture which you mixed with curry sauce.. yummy!!!) near my place.

The 'frog' wins in the end. I stopped by railway mall for 2 pratas and a big cup of black coffee.. Aaahh.. life!!

I finally made my way home after 'silencing' the 'frog'.. well, that's the end of a friday night for me!

Oh ya, earlier on my way home from work.. I decided to hop over to the Dark Side. (Star Wars fans will know...) Don't believe???

I've got pics to prove ya wrong..!

Hehee.. WAY cool eh!!?
(Didn't know I'm as 'tall' as a Stormtrooper! hahahahahha.....!!!)

Taking that step..

As I inched closer towards my late twenties in about a month's time.. I can't help but feel worried. Worried about what the future holds.. how do I earn more to support a family? How can I give the financial security a woman expects? How do I ensure that I'm able to let her live in comfort and allow her the luxury of choosing not to work? How do I make enough to support her, my kids and my aging parents.. also not forgetting my in-laws.

It's really a tall order.

Often, I dream big... maybe too big sometimes. Although I know life always has a way out.. I've to admit I've been a lazy ass lately.. but lazy in a mental sense. Maybe I'm so bottled up with the dollar and cents that I delayed seeking a way out.

Been wanting to further my studies for years now... but till now, I'm still thinking about it. Not the decision whether to study nor the sacrifice of my 'playtime' but rather the cost of getting a degree. Of course I know it's worth it, I also know a degree in our little country now is a bare minimum if you intend to go any higher than an executive.

But to get myself into yet another debt, and adding on to my stacks of monthly instalments involves much more than just a casual thought. Unless I'm confident of the school fees, I know I won't be able to do well in the course.. I want to be 100% focus on school and not be bothered finacially.

Though sometimes I envy friends whom enjoyed the luxury of support from parents, I've learnt not to compare nor complain.. Guess I'll work doubly hard when I know I'm actually financing my own education.

Some failed to see it.. deeming me to be laid back, lazy or just 'bo chap' (can't be bothered in Hokkien). I'll leave it to them for the better judgement... guess I always believe in.. "Time will tell." Maybe I really can't be bothered to explain myself.. wondering why I have to.. since I know it won't make any difference in their opinion anyway and would rather let the results speak. But maybe by keeping mum about many things... I get misunderstood ever so often.

That's just me I guess.

Dream Weaving..

Been trying to do up my website last night... gosh, I spent like 3 hrs trying to pick back what I gave back when I left school almost 6 years ago.

Well, I'm not giving up.. shall continue this uphill task tonight.. meanwhile, if anyone has any pointers, pleaseeeee.. feel free to enlighten me, ya??

Oh, for the info.. this site I'm attempting to built.. it's actually for my works.. so, certain sensitive people most probably won't have access to it.. namely it's to prevent my boss from seeing it.. hahaha.. moonlighting isn't really a norm here.. if ya know what I mean.

A song I kept replaying...

Sometimes.. a song is truly worth a thousand words.

====

I see forever when I look in your eyes
You're all I've ever wanted, I always want you to be mine
Let's make a promise till the end of time
We'll always be together, and our love will never die

So here we are face to face and heart to heart
I want you to know we will never be apart
Now I believe that wishes can come true
Cause I see my whole world
I see only you

When I look into you eyes
I can see how much I love you
And it makes me realize
When I look into your eyes
I see all my dreams come true
When I look into your eyes

I've looked for you all of my life
Now that I've found you, we will never say goodbye
I can't stop this feeling and there's nothing I can do
Cause I see everything, when I look at you

When I look into you eyes
I can see how much I love you
And it makes me realize
When I look into your eyes
I see all my dreams come true
When I look into your eyes

Oh, when I look into your eyes
I can see how much I love you
And it makes me realize
When I look into your eyes
We will always be together
And our love will never die
When I look into your eyes
I see all my dreams come true
When I look into your eyes
When I look into your eyes

The modern Monk

Maybe being a monk isn't such a bad idea afterall...

Digital Camera = $599
Cab fare to Motorshow = $12
Ticket for Motorshow = $5
Cheeky look captured on camera = Priceless!

heheh..

I should be asleep...

I'm so supposed to be asleep, but somehow by some strange reason... I find myself dragging my laptop to bed and hitting the 'On' switch, clicking on the IE and logging on to Blogger.

Hmm.. is there something I should blog about?

Well, nothing much exciting today... been a busy day at work, just completed a concept for a Motherboard ad in India.. a pretty good one I'd say. It was approved immediately. Guess I hit the bullseye this time. Considering the 2 ads I did for the past 2 weeks.. it was a nightmare!

Maybe I'll post it here... if anyone's interested that is..

Anyway, knock off pretty early today... headed to Tiong Bahru to catch 'Happy Feet'. Guess by now 85% of Singaporeans have already watched it.. so I'll skip the review part. But for the 15%, it's about time for you to leave that cosy little cave and go catch this not-that-funny-but-pretty-heartwarming show.

That's it! The exciting end of a thursday for me.

Oh God... I just realised... it's Friday!! Woohoo... weekend's knocking! More bowling..more beaching, more SLEEP!! hahahaa...

Talking about sleep... guess its time I should return this laptop to its rightful place and return myself... to bed.

Nitez people...
