monday's thoughts
Seeing isn't believing

Was having coffee last night at East Coast and notice a security guard going around pointing a magnetic device to a circular point on the wall. It's a sort of checkpoint kinda stuff ensuring that the guards did their rounds and visited all the places he's supposed to patrol.

It got me thinking... TRUST is clearly a rarity in today's society. CCTV in a restaruants, offices and even shop space the size of a toilet. Had a friend who used to work in a printing shop the size of about a room, it had at least 7 cctvs with each one trained on every conceivable angle. Constantly surveying whatever is on the monitor. I even had the 'luxury' of doing a monthly report on the work done for the month!

Between friends as well.. I noticed many people though appeared buddies on the surface, seems to have reservations and doubts regarding each others' motives when it comes to money matters.

Between couples.. well though Trust is an essential component of any long lasting relationship, sadly all too often I see it missing as well. Many simple demanded it.. failing to realise that Trust is to be earned not given.

Quality of life, technology and wealth seems to have increase many folds over the decade.. yet the value of Man's words are on the steady decline. Has mankind became more sceptical or too scheming... I wonder.

Hope the day comes when 'I do' really means 'I do'... with no 'IFs', no 'BUTs', no 'ANDs'.
