monday's thoughtsDurians Galore!

Last Saturday my family and I went on a short trip to Malaysia for a 1 Day 'Durian Tour'. Not particularly keen on it as mostly all your travel mates are either retirees, housewives, aunties and uncles. The itinery isn't that exciting at all.. But as it's my dad's birthday as well as Father's day being the day after, I guess my presence would mean more to him as a whole family enjoying a short weekend getaway.

A short overview, gather at Meridian orchard for your coach in, after clearing custom.. head for brunch at some street corner coffeeshop. Promptly followed by another hr's journey to the durian plantation where you can eat till you puke.

So, after puking and eating some more... you're then herded to the waiting bus for another hr's trip to the local hypermart, Jusco. Setting you loose for 2 hours, you're back on the bus en-route to ANOTHER hypermart Giant where you're allowed to roam for an hour before the evening feeding time.

Had our so-called 'seafood dinner' at some crappy restruant that looks like only tourist like us are forced to patronised. Anyway.. food's edible. Though thoughout the meal I kept wondering where they stash their giant microwave... as they seem to be able to serve all the 7 course food dishes at once for all the 10 tables!

Back on the bus after dinner... and we're finally heading home.

F.i.n.a.l.l.y!

Some pics here.. not much though.
